Introduction Ok so you've bought some content and
you're ready to put some of the better looking girls in your
tour to make sure that the surfer pays attention. That's
groovy, but what if you're content isn't that great ? It's
amazing how often I see AVS sites, TGP posts and Paysite
tours that could have been made to look a whole lot better
with a few simple tricks that really don't take a lot of
time. Sure, if your niche is amateur then the "natural
look" is ok, but for those of you who have wondered
why your "teen" model looks like she's had a few
kids and lives in a caravan then read on.
There are a number areas where you might want to improve a models look. Do they
have body peircing and tattoos ? Do they have a lot of wrinkles ? Do they look
like they need a tan ? In this tutorial we'll look at an easy way to remove Tattoos
and then do some follow up work in next weeks tutorial on other techniques.
Step 1) Ok, grab the picture you want to remove the tattoo from and load
it into photoshop. Figure 1 is a picture I've taken of my girlfriend (hehe ..
only kidding).

Step 2) What we're going to do is copy a section of skin that is unmarked
and paste it over the tattoo. Click the Rectangular marquee tool and
make a a selection around an area of skin next to the tattoo that is large enough
to cover it - see figure 2. Obviously when using skin from other sections of
the body you will always get some variation in color so it's best to pick an
area that is as close as possible in tone and color (if you can't find a section
that is large enough you can paste 2 or more smaller areas of skin or you can
try a different technique as shown in part 2 of this series).

Step 3) Now that you've selected your area hit ctrl-c to copy the area,
then ctrl-v to paste a new bit of skin on top of your main image. You should
see your layers menu looking like figure 3. With Layer 1 still selected move
it over to cover the tattoo that is on the background layer below it as seen
in figure 4.

Step 4) What we have now is not bad, but if you look closely at figure
4 you can still see the faint outline of the rectangular section of skin that
we've just transplanted so we need to fix it. Grab the eraser tool and
select a soft round brush from the drop down menu as shown in figure 5. Whilst
layer1 is still selected carefully use your eraser to trace around the edge of
the transplanted rectangle - this will be the first step in helping to blend
the transplanted skin into the background.

Step 5) The next step is to Link layer 1 and the background as seen in
figure 6 and then go to the main menu and merge these 2 layers with layer > merge
linked. You will now have 1 layer to work with. Grab the blur tool and
again select a soft round brush (I chose size 10 on this occation but it will
vary according to the size of the area you are working with so spend some time
experimenting). Finally Use the blur tool to blend the areas around the rectangle
and into the background. If you've put in a little effort it will be very difficult
to even know there was a tattoo there in the first place (see figure 7).

Conclusion: Well that wasn't that hard was it ? In next weeks tutorial
we'll look at some other techniques to help improve the look of your pics that
should be a fundamental part of any webmasters arsenal.
